Car Boot Sale
Date: Sunday August 3, 2008

On Sunday, 3rd August, Bruce, Jane, Babs, Hayley, Cliff and I got up at 5a.m. to go to a car boot sale at The Bowl in Milton Keynes. We packed so much stuff in our cars that we were worried about the threatening black skies above us, because we would not have the shelter of our gazebo. On arrival, other car booters were already buying stuff from us as we set up our wallpaper tables. The car boot sale opened to the public at 8a.m. so we had just enough time to have refreshments, and what a busy morning we had. We had regular bursts of heavy rain so we had to keep covering our goods with plastic sheets and then dash for our cars to keep dry!
At the end of the morning at 12 noon, we had raised over £124, but we had to pay £8 for each car. It was a successful morning, and our thanks go to Babs and Hayley for their assistance and generous donation of goods.
