Carl Morris Events
Date: Saturday November 22, 2008

We were fortunate to be asked by Carl ‘Houdini’ Morris and his partner Corinne Isaac to support them at two weekend events at a prime spot in Central Milton Keynes.
Carl Morris is recipient of Hearing Dog Ingle, and is a former world champion pool player, currently ranked at no.4. He does a tour of Interactive Pool Exhibitions to raise money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, and he did such an exhibition in Midsummer Place during the weekend of 9th and 10th August. Several Milton Keynes branch members went along to help with bucket collections and raised a total of £1,539.71.
As this event was so successful, we were asked to help Corinne Isaac at a street collection, again at Midsummer Place, during the weekend of 21st and 22nd November. This time, we were able to man our own stall, selling Hearing Dog goods as well as hold our soft toy game along with the bucket collections. Once again, several MK branch members went along and braced freezing cold weather to help Corinne and HD Ingle raise money for Hearing Dogs. The total raised from the bucket collection was £1,204.63, plus £493.06 from the sale of goods.
Our branch account has since been soft credited with £2,744.34 from the Carl Morris events, which greatly boosted our end of year total. Our thanks go to Carl and Corinne for inviting us, and we are looking forward to working with them again in 2009.
