Carl Morris Interactive Pool Exhibition
Date: Friday March 20, 2009

Carl Morris is a professional pool player, who is deaf and recipient of Hearing Dog Ingle. He was world champion 1998, UK professional of 16 years, WORLD#1 1999 & 2000 and 6 x UK Winner. He and his partner Corinne Isaac are doing a tour of interactive pool exhibitions in shopping malls, to raise money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. They did such an exhibition at Central Square, The Mall, Luton on 20th, 21st and 22nd March, so members of the Milton Keynes, Bedford and Hertfordshire branches were invited to help with bucket collections. Some of us went along with our dogs to assist, and we received a warm welcome from Carl and Corinne, not forgetting Ingle who greeted our dogs with tailywags. They were surprised to see MK branch member, Joan Harrington, turn up dressed up as a dalmation dog – she has since earned the nickname of Dotty.

Members of the public were invited to play a frame with Carl for £3, and Cliff had a go, but he lost very badly! Over the weekend, Carl played a total of 167 frames, and the public won 6. A total of £2,259.84 was raised, an excellent sum for a weekend of entertainment by Carl. We are looking forward to assisting Carl and Corinne when they visit Milton Keynes this summer.
