Waitrose Community Matters

This is a new scheme where each Waitrose branch donates £1,000 between three local good causes, chosen by their staff and shoppers. At the checkout shoppers receive green tokens which are placed in a transparent box of the good cause they’d most like to support. The more tokens a cause gets, the bigger the donation they receive.
In November 2008, we sent a nomination to the Milton Keynes Branch of Waitrose, and we were very pleased to be chosen as one of three local charities for this cause. It was nice to see our box fill up with green coins and we subsequently received a cheque for £442.00. We have sent a certificate to Ms Carole McKenzie of MK Waitrose to thank them for their donation.
