On 9th February 2007, the Milton Keynes and District Fundraising branch of Hearing Dogs was launched to coincide with Hearing Dogs 25th Anniversary.

HD recipient Janet Durbidge and HD speaker Joan Harrington started the ball rolling in 2006 by running stalls at various events, during which year they had raised £1,500. Since then we have had more people as volunteers so we decided to set up a branch of our own.

We held an informal meeting to launch the branch in the summerhouse at the lovely surroundings of Bekonscot Court in Giffard Park, Milton Keynes. It was very well attended and we had the support of Ruth Dunkin and Ann Ramsden from The Grange.

Three volunteers agreed to be branch officers as below:
Chairperson – Doreen Monk (centre in photo) who is currently waiting for a Hearing Dog.
Secretary – Janet Durbidge (on right in photo) who has a Hearing Dog called Gypsy.
Treasurer – Jane Minard (on left in photo) who has a Hearing Dog in training called Iris.

We also have two speakers in our branch, Joan Harrington and Stan Marriner. One of our volunteers, Alison Renwick is a socialiser with her gorgeous black Labrador puppy QB.
