Special General Meeting 30th January 2010

The majority of branch members joined us for the Special General Meeting on Saturday 30th January at Newport Pagnell United Reformed Church. The meeting elected a new Secretary, Publicity Officer, Membership Secretary, Social Secretary, 2 craft officers and an HD goods coordinator. It also agreed resolutions for interpreter funding, collection can distribution, branch meeting schedule and a suitable financial reserve for the branch. We also identified event organisers for 9 of the events that we are planning for the year.
Following the formalities of the meeting we presented our out-going secretary Janet Durbidge with a card, a framed picture of branch members from the annual dinner and a £50 gardening voucher in recognition of the work that she has done for the branch since it’s inception.
Chairman Helen Peters presented the President Doreen Monk with a cheque for £100 which was donated by BT to assist with the funding of interpreters in 2010. Alison Renwick also presented a cheque for £100 to the treasurer – this was donated by one of Alison’s suppliers in lieu of a Christmas luncheon.
